Privacy policy

Peekafox is made by Slowpond ("we"). This policy explains what happens to information when you play Peekafox on iPhone, iPad or Mac, or in a web browser.

The short version

Peekafox does not collect any information about you. There are no accounts, no analytics, no crash reporting, no advertising and no tracking. We never see your progress, your settings or anything else about how you play.

What stays on your device

The app saves your progress (the level you reached, your score, your acorns and helpers, gifts, your streak, your Daily Challenge results and times, and your personal bests) and your settings (sound, haptics, the daily reminder, color help and theme) on your device, so you can pick up where you left off. This data never leaves your device except through the Apple services below, and only if you use them.

Deleting the app erases what it saved on that device.

iCloud

If you are signed in to iCloud, the app keeps your progress and settings in step between your devices using iCloud key value storage. This is Apple's service, tied to your own Apple Account. The data is stored by Apple under its privacy policy and is not accessible to us. Because it lives in your iCloud, your progress comes back if you install Peekafox again with the same Apple Account. You can turn iCloud off for the app in your device's settings.

Game Center

If you are signed in to Game Center, the app reports achievements and leaderboard scores to Game Center: your time on the Daily Challenge, the points you earn from levels this week and your score. It also asks Game Center where your result sits on a board, to show a line such as "Top 20% today" when you are in the top half. Game Center is Apple's service and works under Apple's privacy policy. Your Game Center profile and scores are handled by Apple; we do not receive your name, email or contacts. If you are not signed in, nothing is sent.

Daily reminder

If you turn on the daily reminder, the app schedules a local notification on your device. It is created and delivered on your device; no server is involved.

Sharing a result

When you share a Daily Challenge result, the app hands a line of text to your device's share sheet (or copies it), and you choose where it goes. Nothing is sent to us.

The web version and these pages

The web version of Peekafox saves your progress in your browser's local storage, on your device only. These pages and the web version are hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical information such as your IP address to deliver the pages and protect them from abuse. We do not set cookies and do not add analytics or trackers to these pages.

Children

Peekafox is suitable for all ages. Because the app collects no personal information, it collects none from children.

Changes

If Peekafox ever adds a feature that changes any of the above, we will update this page before that version is released and change the date at the top.
